AC/DC: Back In Black

It begins, as most totemically important things do, with church bells. It ends, as most totemically important things do, with a screed against noise pollution. In between? The most important hard rock album of the 1980s, a masterpiece, a zillion-seller, a paean to grief by the band who made 'Big Balls.' When their lead singer Bon Scott died, you could have expected AC/DC to pack it in, pack it up, and head back to Australia. Instead, they regrouped with a new singer, and made this album, which is now part of our collective unconscious, as Jung would say. It belongs in every record collection that features a song played with a guitar. But you already know this.
