In the 1950s, he founded the group \u003cstrong\u003eLes Anges Noirs\u003c\/strong\u003e (The Black Angels), named after a club Brussels, Belgium,\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eManu Dibango was musical director and pianist in Les Anges Noirs for a period, and he would later become one of the emblematic figures of African music.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eFonseca was nicknamed “the King of Afro-Cuban rhythm”. After several great successes from the early sixties to 1968, Fonseca suddenly disappeared from the music scene in the late 60's.
